Vocalist Sandy Cressman has long been a great interpreter of Brazilian music, delivering a rich connection to the music with every performance. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Cressman began her professional career performing with the Manhattan Transfer inspired group Pastiche, a vocal trio that explored jazz and pop. It was Brazilian music that captured her heart though and she soon dived deeply into the music of Flora Purim, Milton Nascimento, Djavan, and Dori Caymmi. She soon began performing as a duo with pianist Marcos Silva, building her repertoire, which led to the creation of her group Homenagem Brasileira. She recently released a new album, Entre Amigos, and outstanding album that explores the music of Brazil’s great contemporary songwriters. On Entre Amigos and beyond, Cressman brings her deep study and obvious love of Brazilian music to the forefront.

This video features Cressman fronting a band full of great collaborators, including pianist Jovino Santos Neto, bassist David Belove, and drummer Celso Alberti. They mash together two Jobim classics – Dindi and A Felicidade – into an intoxicating blend of Brazilian swing!
